The organizers of the Solar Decathlon Europe
After the fourth "Solar Decathlon" took place in Washington (2002, 2005, 2007 and 2009), Madrid is going to host the first "Solar Decathlon Europe" in 2010.
The solar competition, that has been tendered worldwide by the U.S. Energy Department and the Spanish building authorities, is a contest between universities with the aim of developing and realizing an energy autarchic, solar-powered, small residential building (approx. 70m²).
The objective of the contest is to demonstrate the possibilities of future building.
